Why Investment Matters
We’re helping people thrive at every age—supporting older adults to stay active and connected, and empowering youth with programs that build confidence, resilience, and mental well-being.
Programming for Generational Health
Communities in BC are at an important crossroads. BC’s population is aging and young people’s mental health is at a tipping point.
BCRPA has a long history of delivering programs that help older adults and youth stay physically active and connected to one another and their communities. From healthy aging to cognitive fitness to prevention and early intervention training, we are here to support.
Strengthening Youth Resilience
BCRPA is helping youth build the skills and confidence they need to thrive. Drawing on our extensive experience supporting youth programming, we know that prevention and early intervention are key to resilience.
We’re seeking investment in community-based training and programming grants that strengthen prevention and early intervention efforts for youth ages 11 to 25. Through proven offerings like Empower Youth, youth advisory groups, and training for youth workers across the province our reach for youth across the province is vast.
EMPOWERING AGING
BCRPA delivers evidence-based programs and professional development that help older adults stay active, connected, and independent. Our initiatives reduce isolation, prevent falls, and promote healthy aging across communities.
With funded support, we would expand ActivAge and develop a new cognitive fitness program designed to strengthen both body and mind—training BCRPA fitness professionals across BC to deliver it at no cost. We would also grow programs like Osteofit and Choose to Move, while adding strength-training options for adults approaching older adulthood to support early prevention and long-term well-being.
